Ensure Optimal Performance with Proper Installation
The StretcherStopper® is engineered for precision, durability, and ease of application. To ensure a long-lasting, high-bond hold, please follow the instructions below carefully based on the type of flooring in your facility. Improper installation may compromise adhesion and product performance.

Required Materials
Before beginning the installation, gather the following professional-grade cleaning and preparation tools:

-
Isopropyl Alcohol (Preferably 99%)
-
Scotch-Brite™ Pad or equivalent abrasive cleaning pad
-
Linen-Free Paper Towels or microfiber cloth
-
Tweezers (for tape liner removal)
-
Tap Water (for rinsing)
-
Absorbent Sponge
-
Commercial Vinyl Floor Wax Stripper
-
No-Wax Vinyl Cleaner (only for no-wax vinyl flooring)
-
Painter’s Tape
Installation Guide
For Waxed Vinyl Flooring
(Do not use this procedure for no-wax floors. See the next section for no-wax instructions.)
-
Position the Bed or Stretcher: Place the medical bed or stretcher in the desired location relative to the headwall. This will serve as your reference point for product placement.
-
Do Not Peel Tape Liner Yet: Keep the red liner on the adhesive tape intact during all preparation steps to preserve the adhesive integrity.
-
Align the StretcherStopper®: While the bed/stretcher remains in place, align the StretcherStopper® so that it rests directly against the front-facing casters. This simulates how the bed will make contact with the stopper when in daily use.
-
Mark the Installation Zone: Use painter’s tape or a non-permanent marker to outline the position of the StretcherStopper® on the floor. Once marked, remove the bed/stretcher from the area to allow for surface preparation.
-
Surface Preparation (**Critical Step**):
-
Apply a commercial vinyl floor wax stripper to the marked area to remove all wax coatings.
-
Scrub thoroughly using a Scotch-Brite™ pad to ensure wax and grime removal.
-
Rinse the area with tap water using a sponge.
-
Dry the surface fully using lint-free paper towels or equivalent.
-
Perform a final cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, ensuring no residue remains.
-
Allow the floor to air dry completely before proceeding to tape application.
-
-
Peel the Tape Liner Carefully:
-
Using tweezers, lift one corner of the red liner from the high-bond adhesive tape on the underside of the StretcherStopper®.
-
Avoid touching the adhesive surface with fingers or tools, as contamination will reduce bond strength.
-
-
Final Positioning & Mounting:
-
Recheck alignment with your marked zone.
-
Once the adhesive makes contact with the floor, repositioning is not possible.
-
Press the StretcherStopper® down into position, then apply firm, even pressure across the entire length by stepping along the top of the unit. This ensures complete contact and a strong bond.
-
-
Cure Time:
-
Initial Use: Safe for light contact after 60 minutes
-
Full Bond Strength: Achieved after 72 hours
-
During this period, avoid chemical exposure, moisture, or heavy impact on the installation area.
-
For No-Wax Vinyl Flooring
Follow the same procedure as above, with a key modification in Step 5:
-
Instead of using a wax stripper, clean the installation area with a no-wax vinyl floor cleaner.
-
Complete with a final isopropyl alcohol wipe and dry thoroughly.
Multi-Bed Environments
If your facility uses multiple stretcher or bed models that circulate across rooms or bays, position the StretcherStopper based on the model with the longest caster extension from the headwall. This ensures all units will make contact with the stopper before reaching the wall, regardless of model type.
Removal Instructions
In the event that you need to reposition or remove the product, follow these precise removal steps:
-
Cutting Through the Adhesive: Use a cable saw to separate the product from the floor. Keep the cable parallel to the floor during cutting to prevent surface damage.
-
Removing Adhesive Residue from Floor:
-
Use a multi-tool oscillating scraper (recommended) with a flat scraping blade.
-
For less sensitive flooring, a putty knife followed by a rubber stripe-off wheel may be used.
-
Clean remaining adhesive with automotive bug and tar remover and a razor blade scraper.
-
Caution
Never pry or lift the product with a mechanical tool such as a crowbar or chisel.
Doing so may damage both the StretcherStopper and your floor covering.
Performance Guarantee
StretcherStopper® is engineered using industrial-grade VHB® (Very High Bond) adhesive tape, which provides exceptional durability in both dynamic (moving load) and static (stationary pressure) environments.
The same bonding technology is trusted in:
-
Highway traffic signage
-
Automotive trim and structural panels
-
Architectural glass mounting in skyscrapers
This ensures your unit will remain secure and effective in the most demanding healthcare environments.
