StretcherStoppe was founded from real-world experience inside the healthcare environment; where safety, efficiency, and damage prevention are non-negotiable.

Our founder spent over a decade working directly in hospitals and medical facilities across the country as a hospital bed and capital equipment specialist. During that time, one issue stood out: patient beds and stretchers, often weighing over 800 pounds, were regularly colliding with headwalls, oxygen outlets, nurse call systems, and electrical panels. These impacts weren’t just causing physical damage to expensive infrastructure, they were compromising patient safety, interrupting clinical workflow, and placing additional strain on hospital staff.

These impacts weren’t minor. They caused costly repairs, disrupted patient care, and in many cases, created safety hazards for both patients and staff. But what stood out most was the makeshift nature of the “solutions” hospitals were using. Maintenance crews, in the absence of a dedicated product, were improvising; cutting pieces of wood, bolting down scraps of metal, or laying down rubber mats to stop beds from rolling too far. These workarounds weren’t hygienic, weren’t standardized, and often failed under daily use.

It was clear the industry needed something better; recognizing the need for a clean, durable, and purpose-built solution, our founder designed the first StretcherStoppe; a discreet, heavy-duty floor-mounted device that uses industrial-grade adhesive to stay firmly in place without drilling or hardware. It installs in seconds and instantly acts as a physical stop to prevent hospital beds and stretchers from damaging walls or equipment. Its low profile ensures it doesn’t interfere with foot traffic or cleaning protocols, while its effectiveness has made it a favorite among nurses, facility directors, and safety officers.

Since its launch, StretcherStoppe has been adopted by hospitals, surgical centers, and long-term care facilities nationwide. It’s a simple, cost-effective device that solves a widespread problem; designed by someone who saw the issue firsthand, listened to clinical staff, and created a product that finally fills the gap between patient safety and facility protection.

At StretcherStopper®, we’re proud to offer a product that protects infrastructure, reduces maintenance costs, and most importantly, helps safeguard the people working on the front lines of patient care.
